The Zion Property Board is once again going to tackle the job of cemetery mowing by using volunteer teams from the congregation. We had great success with that last summer and saved the church some significant money. All teams who helped last year will be contacted once again to see if they want to participate once more, but if you were not on a mowing team and would like to assist with this project, please contact Mike Winter so you can be put on the schedule. We CAN! Our new project for February is the Garretson Backpack Program. Weekly backpacks are filled by volunteers at The Treasure Chest and delivered to Garretson School for distribution for those in need. These backpacks contain items for the kids to use over the weekend when they are not getting meals at school. We are going to collect items that they use and deliver them to The Treasure Chest at the end of February. We will also pass the CAN again to collect money to be given to the backpack program to be used to purchase items that they are running short of and to help purchase milk at school for the milk program so that no one goes without milk. Here is the list of items we are collecting: Cereal (kinds that kids like), Boxes of Mac and Cheese, Soup (kinds that kids like), Spaghetti O’s, Ravioli, etc., Pop Tarts, breakfast bars, or instant oatmeal, Snack size pudding, fruit cups, cookies, crackers, microwave popcorn, Fruit juice boxes, Candy, Soda crackers, Individual servings of peanut butter, If you have any questions, please contact Dan Paulson at 594-3165.

The Garretson School District will be conducting a Kindergarten/Preschool screening scheduled for Thursday, February 28 for all children from the age of 3-5 years old. The purpose of this screening is to assess each child’s educational readiness and project future district enrollment. The screening will be provided at no cost to all participating children. The screening for 3-5 year olds will be held at the Garretson Elementary School from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 28. For your child’s appointment, please contact Norinda at school at 594-3451 ext. 305 by Tuesday, February 26.  If your child has already been screened and will be starting Kindergarten or Preschool in the fall, please contact the school as soon as possible.

Weekly bulletin mailing. If you know of someone who would like to receive our worship bulletin by mail on a weekly basis, please email the church office and we will put them on our weekly mailing list.

“Son” Shine Box. Please look for the "Son Shine Box" in the Narthex and fill out a card for anyone you think could use a Sunshine Card. Sunshine cards can be sent for any reason, such as illness, death in family, retirement, anniversary, birth of new baby, etc. Thank you, Mission and Fellowship Board.

Please Note: If there is inclement weather, a determination will be made by the Learning Board by 7 pm on Saturday evening if Sunday School will be held the following morning. Please check the Keloland Closeline and a Zion Blast will be sent.

Zion’s weekly Sunday service is broadcast on the Community Access channel at Alliance Communication on Tuesdays at 6:30 pm.

PRAYER CHAIN: Please notify the church office if you or a loved one would like to be included in our prayer chain.

WEDDINGS: Please schedule at least four months in advance to allow time for pre-marriage sessions.

BAPTISMS: May be scheduled for the 5:30 p.m. Saturday Service or Sunday at either service. Please schedule a minimum of one month in advance.

If someone needs a bible, feel free to take one from the back of the church.
