CLEAN THE HOUSE!!! Easter is right around the corner and in order to have Zion looking its best, we are planning a church-wide cleaning event on Sunday, March 31st, following the 9:00am church service. We will divide up into groups and clean the entire church. We will NOT have Junior or Cherub choir that day, but we WILL have Sunday School. The classes and teachers are asked to clean their classrooms during that time. Following the cleaning, we will have a catered lunch of sandwiches, chip, etc. So wear your cleaning clothes, bring step ladders, buckets, rags, and any cleaning supplies that you think we might need and let’s make Zion S*P *A*R*K*L*E!!!! The Zion Property Board is once again going to tackle the job of cemetery mowing by using volunteer teams from the congregation. We had great success with that last summer and saved the church some significant money. All teams who helped last year will be contacted once again to see if they want to participate once more, but if you were not on a mowing team and would like to assist with this project, please contact Mike Winter so you can be put on the schedule. WE CAN-March – It is time for a new We Can project, and for March we have selected the Food Pantry in Garretson. The shelves are a little bare and we can help! Not only does the Garretson Food Pantry supply food, they also have hygiene products, which are for the most part things that you cannot buy with SNAP cards. So we are going to collect hygiene products such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, bar soap, toilet paper, shampoo, feminine pads, razors, shaving cream, and anything else you can think of for hygiene products. If you would like to donate food items, that would be great also. Cash donations will be used to buy meat and other items for the guests. We would also like you to include the Garretson Food Pantry guests in your prayers! Call Dan Paulson at 594-3165 with any questions.

EASTER FLOWERS & MEMORIAL GARDEN. The Worship Board has decided to once again have an Easter Memorial Garden of real flowering plants in the church on Easter Sunday. If you would like to contribute a plant to this memorial garden, you can decide that the plants be given in honor or memory of someone, or you may give a general donation to be used to purchase the flowering plants. We now have prices for the plants and forms for ordering are on the table in the narthex. You have the choice of lilies, tulips, daffodils, and hyacinths. Deadline to order is March 17. Thank you in advance for helping to beautify our church for Easter!

Thrivent Update: As Thrivent Financial evolves a variety of changes have taken place.  As you know, "for Lutherans" is no longer part of the title.  We no longer have Minnehaha Chapters that award funds.  Most funding is now given through 'Choice Dollars' and 'Action Teams'.  Zion's 'Choice Dollars' allocation are down and last years dollars must be designated before the end of March or Thrivent will allocate for you.  Another way to generate funds for worth while projects are "Action Teams".  It is a fairly easy process and each member can lead 2 a year which includes $250.00 seed money.  Below is information that was recently published in the January Magazine. "Members who lead a Thrivent Action Team will be sent a new and improved kit that includes some of the same items as before — seed money, T-shirts (in a new color) and promotional materials — and a few new items to help make their project even more impactful." For more information, go on line or call 1-800-847-4836. One last item for folks taking distributions from IRA funds or those over 701/2 who must take RMD.  Thrivent now has the ability to send separate checks (including directly to you).  Directing donations to qualified organizations like Zion can result in tax free distributions.  Call your Thrivent Rep for more details.

Weekly bulletin mailing. If you know of someone who would like to receive our worship bulletin by mail on a weekly basis, please email the church office and we will put them on our weekly mailing list.

“Son” Shine Box. Please look for the "Son Shine Box" in the Narthex and fill out a card for anyone you think could use a Sunshine Card. Sunshine cards can be sent for any reason, such as illness, death in family, retirement, anniversary, birth of new baby, etc. Thank you, Mission and Fellowship Board.

Zion’s weekly Sunday service is broadcast on the Community Access channel at Alliance Communication on Tuesdays at 6:30 pm.

BAPTISMS: May be scheduled for the 5:30 p.m. Saturday Service or Sunday at either service. Please schedule a minimum of one month in advance.

If someone needs a bible, feel free to take one from the back of the church.

LSS CENTER FOR NEW AMERICANS TASTE OF CULTURES, Sat. April 13 at the District. You are invited to the 24th annual Taste of Cultures celebration. Proceeds support refuge families new to the country. Join us for a night of cultural celebration with wonderful food catered by Lalibela Restaurant and entertainment from Siama’s Congo music. General admission tickets cost $40 ($320 for a table).
