Food to You Mobile Food Pantry. On Thursday, December 7, Zion will be serving at “Food to You,” the mobile food pantry in Sioux Falls.  There is a signup sheet in the narthex for those willing to help out that night.  We need 5 people to help unload the food truck at 4 p.m. (and also serve during the distribution), then we need an additional 16 to 18 people to arrive at 5-5:15 p.m. to prepare for the distribution and help distribute the food.  This year we are at Eastside Lutheran on East 10th Street.   The distribution starts at 6 p.m., and we should be done and cleaned up by 7:45 p.m.

In addition to volunteers, we will be collecting the “Food of the Month,” tuna and tuna helper.  Our goal is 200 cans of tuna and 100 boxes of tuna helper.  We also need a financial donation of $300 to cover the cost of the food from Feeding South Dakota.  A collection box for tuna, tuna helper, and financial donations is located in the narthex. We are expecting around 100 families to be served that night and encourage anyone needing a boost in holiday cheer to sign up and experience what it is like to help out during the holidays!  If you have any questions, please contact Dan Paulson at 594-3165.

The Mission and Fellowship board will be holding a cookie swap December 10th following the Sunday School Christmas program.  You can bake and swap, donate or just purchase with a free-will donation! Please put your goodies in groups of 6, and include your recipe.  Free will donations will go to the Dawson Sanders' family to help with medical expenses.

Soup and Hot Dog Lunch to follow the Children’s Christmas Program on December 10th. Please join us in the basement from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. for some food and fellowship in this holiday season. This is an annual tradition and fundraiser and the free will donation for this meal goes to the Jr. League to help defray the cost of food and activities for them throughout the year.

On December 21, Faith Bible Study group will meet at 12:30 p. m. in the community room of Palisades Apartments for a pot luck luncheon.  Please bring a dish to share.

The total in our disaster relief (hurricanes) fund is $467.95. This is from the children and Sunday School offering. Thrivent will match.

The deadline for Annual Report submissions will be a firm December 15th (except financial statements ) in order to allow the office sufficient time to format, edit, print and distribute in a timely manner. Please submit via an email attachment that we can copy/paste into the report. Thank you.

Automatic giving sign-up will be located in the back of the church after the 8:30 am service.  Please stop by if you have questions about it or would like to sign up.  You do have the option to still receive envelopes for special giving and to place something in the offering plate on Sundays.

Weekly bulletin mailing. If you know of someone who would like to receive our worship bulletin by mail on a weekly basis, please email the church office and we will put them on our weekly mailing list.
